Happy National Nurses Week 2019
As we celebrate National Nurses Week, it is important to remember that Florence Nightingale helped reform nursing in the mid-19th century by her compilation and creative presentation of statistics. Her investigative statistical work led to a decline in the many preventable deaths that occurred throughout the nineteenth century in English military and civilian hospitals. Her pioneering use of evidence-based medicine became a powerful directive in garnering support from the medical community and the government.
Flash forward to today, it is amazing to see how data and statistics are used to evaluate healthcare programs and to influence decision-making. Professional Services Network wants to recognize its network of qualified, data-driven nurses, with years of experience in utilization review, quality management (including data abstraction and HEDIS review), and case management.
Happy Nurses Week to you and all nurses who work to improve healthcare every day!
“When I am no longer even a memory, just a name, I hope my voice may perpetuate the great work of my life…”
