It is easy for patients to get lost along the road to recovery. With all of the confusing directions and potholes along the way,
it is difficult to figure out the best path to take. Case Managers are the personal guides that help patients navigate health care. Case Managers work with patients as their advocate to help them to understand their current health needs, what their care plan options are, and where they need to go to get appropriate care. Not only that, but it is Case Managers who make sure that the equipment and medical services meet the needs of both the patient and their families. They accomplish all of this while striving to make sure that the healthcare received is cost effective.
Next week honors these “guides for patients.” October 11th through 17th is National Case Management Week. Case Management Week was established in 1998 by the Case Management Society of America in order to bring attention to the contributions and commitments Case Managers make, and to educate others about the critical role case management plays in today’s healthcare. Professional Services Network, Inc. shares in this week’s recognition of Case Managers and thanks its Case Manager employees and others in the profession for their hard work and commitment.
With the “roads of healthcare” often seen as winding and confusing, Case Managers are at every healthcare junction helping patients toward better health. So again, thank you, Case Managers, for all of the wonderful work that you do.
